A well priced, easy to use, quality product. For some reason probably Windows it seems to default to baud instead of the that most programs seem to like. The package arrived safely in Australia with a thank you note and some instructions for those who m ight’ve been unfortunate enough to receive damaged goods.
I did not spend much time trying to get it to work with streets, so it may be a user issue problem. If you’ve never used a USB type GPS before you might be a little intimidated by the setup required to get the unit working with whatever program your using but the manual is pretty clear and the main thing you need to do is go into the Windows Dev ice Manager and set the port settings to whatever your program requires.

It quickly acquires ub for almost instant tracking. No biggie as this is the only thing you will probably need to change. I also found it works better when its away from the laptop on the usb cable than came with the device. It doesn’t need a battery and drains very little power. I was a little sceptical about buying this receiver as it got a few bad reviews When trying the NDS on my Ubuntu I picked this particular unit because of its technical specifications; it draws power from USB and is smaller than the other receivers I own.
Show More Show Less. I was able to run the device with several free map apps but I could not get Microsoft streets to recognize the device. I am running win 8 64 on my laptop and it picked up the device with no problem.

This device is one of four other devices I own. From there all you need to is specify the serial port number the operating system has allocated to the GPS receiver and away you go!
The only tricky thing you might find is that there is no really easy way of determining what port number has been assigned to the GPS unit which might make it a donge frustrating for non tech-savvy users. For the record I’m using Windows 7 Professional. In conclusion I’d have to say this thing deserves top marks.
